EXTRA MARITAL AFFAIR
A Love Story
By
VIKRAM KARVE
Ever since the day Tanya met her handsome neighbour, she felt so attracted to him that she desperately wanted to have an affair with him.
Tanya was sure that her handsome neighbour too had a similar clandestine yearning for her.
As days passed the mutual infatuation became stronger and stronger.
Soon the inchoate infatuation turned into a passionate yearning, growing day by day into an uncontrollable craving, a throbbing lust.
Finally, Tanya could bear it no longer.
So she audaciously blurted out her amorous desire to her handsome neighbour while they were going down in the lift on their way to work in the morning.
“Okay,” he said, “Lunch Time. Meet me at the pizza joint opposite your office at 12:30.”
He was waiting for her and soon they were sitting in his car in the parking lot.
“Where?” Tanya asked.
“My old flat,” he said, “it’s nearby, and absolutely safe.”
He stopped the car opposite the building, pointed at the door of a flat facing the road and said, “There it is. Flat 101. On the ground floor. Here, take this latch key, cover your face, quickly go there, open the door, go in and wait for me. We must not go in together. I’ll park the car and come in a minute. I’ll give three short rings of the doorbell.”
Tanya covered her face with her dupatta, got out of the car and quickly walked to the door of the flat.
She inserted the key into the latch and turned it – the door opened easily.
The astounding scene that Tanya saw shocked her totally.
Tanya stood dumbfounded and dazed as she stared in disbelief at what she saw in front of her.
There was a woman.
She was lying naked on the sofa.
Garments of her dress were scattered all over the floor.
And there was a man.
He was half-clothed, his head buried in the woman’s hair, his arms around her.
And they, the man and the woman, were in the throes of passion, in flagrante delicto
The man was Tanya’s husband.
The woman was Tanya’s neighbour’s wife.

oh what an anticlimax..i did not see it coming at all!! lovely twist!
This is very relevant. I see many middle-class people nowadays have more than one house and many instances where the other house used for extra-marital affairs.
@ thelittleprincess
I am glad you liked the twist in the tail - the "anticlimax" in the "climax"
@ Mahesh - Really? Things have changed, haven't they?
