GENUINE “FAUJIS” and PSEUDO “FAUJIS”
Musings of a Veteran

Before you join the Defence Services you need
to ask yourself:
Do you want to be a “fauji” ?
Or do you want to appear to be a “fauji” ?
There are lots of people who just want to appear
to be “faujis” – showing off in their uniforms and trying to project a macho
image.
Genuine “faujis” don’t indulge in all this blatant showmanship
– they never flaunt their military rank – they don’t try to make an impression
showing off their military credentials.
True “faujis” keep a low profile – they just
focus on “soldiering”
So every individual who wants to join the armed
forces (army, navy, air force) must ask himself or herself:
Do I want to be a genuine “fauji” or do I want to be a
pseudo “fauji”?
And if you just want to appear to be a “Fauji” then it is best not to join the Defence
Services, for your pretence will not last for long.
NB: “Fauji” is a generic term for uniformed personnel of Army Navy and Air Force
