GOLDEN RULES OF DRINKING ALCOHOL - Do Not “Count” Your Drinks

GOLDEN RULES OF DRINKING ALCOHOL
Do Not “Count” Your Drinks
By
VIKRAM KARVE

A magnanimous host was once entertaining a guest to drinks and dinner.

In the best traditions of hospitality, the generous host kept on plying his guest with the best of premium whisky, offering his guest a new glass of whisky the moment he finished the earlier one, forcing him to down peg after peg, saying, “Come on, cheers, down the hatch, have one more, have one more!”

Finally the guest, who was feeling quite high, said, “Please. Enough. I have already had six drinks!”

The host replied, “Not six – you have had ten drinks!  But who is counting?”

The moral of the story is that you must never count your drinks – whether you are the guest, or you are the host, or you are just drinking by yourself.

Drinking is a qualitative pastime not a quantitative activity.

You must know exactly how much to drink.

And how do you do that?

Well, that I will tell you soon, right here in my blog in Part 4 of my series on THE GOLDEN RULES OF DRINKING ALCOHOL  (If you want to read the earlier parts of this series, links to the posts are given below):

DRINKING ALCOHOL - GOLDEN RULE NO. 1
NEVER DRINK WHEN YOU NEED A DRINK

DRINKING ALCOHOL - GOLDEN RULE No. 2
FEEL NICE BUT DON'T GET DRUNK

DRINKING ALCOHOL - GOLDEN RULE No. 3
ENJOY YOUR DRINK BUT DON’T BECOME AN ALCOHOLIC

Cheers. Remember the three golden rules:
1. NEVER DRINK WHEN YOU NEED A DRINK
2. FEEL NICE BUT DON'T GET DRUNK
3. ENJOY YOUR DRINK BUT DON’T BECOME AN ALCOHOLIC

To be continued…

  2. One relaxation technique is called gibberish. Make many sounds, as long as they are not just a real vocabulary.

Pretend you're talking in a very language nobody knows. Make deafening sounds, soft looks, angry seems, sad appears, just build any non-word sounds you want. Really wind up in it! And move one's body around also.

You can certainly try some observation involving breathing, concept associated with breathing you'll be able to keep your own attention about the body, which before you start was useful, but then you'll have to learn more complex methods regarding meditation, meditation, great changes will occur in your lifetime.
