a DRUNKARD a STONE and a DOG
A Teaching Story
By
VIKRAM KARVE
Late at night, a drunkard was lurching, his body swaying and staggering, as he walked unsteadily on a deserted road.
A vicious looking dog started barking menacingly at him.
The drunkard bent down to pick up a stone fixed as a milestone on the side of the road.
He wanted to throw the stone at the animal.
He could not lift the milestone which was firmly cemented and solidly entrenched in the ground.
“What a strange place this is,” the drunkard cried in bewilderment, “They tie up the stones and let the dogs go free ...”
Dear Reader: Please tell me the moral of this story
Hint: Imagine this incident from three points of view - the drunkard's point of view, the dog's point of view and the stone's point of view.
Have a Nice Day

ReplyDeleteThat's a new angle I never thought of - you are right - being cemented and firm pays dividends
