SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT - A Story

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
A Story
By
VIKRAM KARVE

Here is a story – some say it is true story observed by a birdwatcher or maybe it is apocryphal:

Once there were three birds – a father bird, a mother bird and a baby bird.

Father bird would bring in food, deposit it on the floor of the nest from where the mother bird would pick it up and feed the baby bird.

The mother bird died.

The father bird continued to bring in food and leave it on the floor of the nest. But there was nobody to feed the baby bird and the poor baby bird died of starvation.

I really found this story quite instructive so I thought I must share it with you.

Every link in the supply chain is intertwined and important, isn’t it?
