HOW TO KEEP THE TIGERS AWAY
A Mulla Nasrudin Story
By

Mulla Nasrudin returned home after a long vacation.

His house had become very dirty so he swept the house and collected all the dust in a sack.

Then he took the sack out of the house and was brazenly dumping the dust on the street when a policeman caught him red handed.

“Why are you dumping dust over here in the middle of the road?” the policeman asked.

“This is not dust,” Nasrudin said.

“This is not dust? What nonsense? It looks like dust to me. If it is not dust, then what is it?” the angry policeman asked.

“This is tiger repellent powder and I am spreading this powder on the street to keep the tigers away,” Nasrudin explained.

“What nonsense,” the policeman said, “there are no tigers here in the middle of the city.”

“Exactly,” Nasrudin said, “See how effective this tiger repellent powder is – I have just spread a little bit of powder on the street and there isn’t a single tiger in the entire city...!!!”
