During the collapse of a dynasty – a rich Chinese official was able to secure as his cook – a special cook who had escaped from the Imperial Palace Kitchen.

Proud of her – he issued invitations for his friends to come and taste a dinner prepared by his newly acquired Imperial Cook.

As the day was approaching – he asked the cook to prepare a royal dinner.

The cook replied she had specialized in snacks – and hence she could not prepare the entire dinner.

“You specialized in snacks? What exactly did you cook?” asked the official.

“Oh – I helped make the patties for the dinner,” she replied.

“Very well – then – go ahead and make some nice patties for my guests,” the official said.

To his consternation – the cook announced: “Oh – No – I cannot make the entire patties. I “super-specialized” in chopping up the onions...”

“So you can chop onions...?”

“No – not all onions – I super-specialized in chopping up the onions for the stuffing of the patties of the Imperial Dinner.”
