I have come to believe that the conventional therapeutic models available for alcohol and drug dependence treatment are grossly inadequate if not actually harmful. Force field analysis seems to make sense, at least to someone who is not drinking. When a person is under the influence of regular drinking, even though he might not be drunk, it is unlikely that he will be able to clearly and objectively identify the forces at work.
